Jay told me that according to the dictionaries, CUTE means ugly but adorable. so then he went on commenting on how Singaporeans have been using the word wrongly. imagine: "oh your baby is sooooo CUTEEE!" we have always been known for doing such a thing. like CRAP. how many of us actually know that it means SHIT? "hey watcha doing?" "nothing, just crapping..."

then i saw this bus with an advertisement saying "Hello Kitty! 30 years of cuteness!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

however, the online dictionary, dictionary.com says otherwise. it states that CUTE means 1)delightfully pretty or dainty, 2)obviously contrived to charm; precious, and 3)shrewd, clever. JAYYYYY!!!! hmmmm hahah this is quite funny. oh and check this out as well. dictionary.com also states that "cute is a good example of how a shortened form of a word can take on a life of its own, developing a sense that dissociates it from the longer word from which it was derived. Cute was originally a shortened form of acute in the sense 'keenly perceptive or discerning, shrewd.' In this sense cute is first recorded in a dictionary published in 1731. Probably cute came to be used as a term of approbation for things demonstrating acuteness, and so it went on to develop its own sense of 'pretty, fetching,' first recorded with reference to 'gals' in 1838." English language is so cute. heh.

guess who i met at yesterday's SYF performance at the Celebrate Singapore Festival? our dear Fernando! hahaha... he's in this Japanese-dunno-what-what Club in Singapore Poly and they were playing this drum thing, something like the Chinese drums. it was so cool! good to see that funny dude again :)

there's econs test tmr wtf! essay test somemore! bleargh. gotta get down to studying already man. 6 weeks to promos oh God...
