ahh yes! my blog is up and going yet again. about time. could it be meer coincidence? or could there be something much deeper to this? i will go with the latter. but thank God it's alright.

so anyway, promos OVER! finally. so now back to doing stuff i have been wanting to do but had to put on hold due to the exams. but strange enough, the drive and passion to do all that seem to have diminished drastically and all i feel like doing is spending as much time as possible in slumber. life seems to have been drained out of me now that we've reached the finale and i think it's been sipping out of me slowly little by little without me realising during the course of the exams. but i'm just glad it's over. this might sound a little weird but sitting for the promos made me feel like the O-levels that we sat for just less than a year ago was nothing like it. it does make sense however due to the level of intensity and difficulty of the subjects that we're doing now. the screams of joy were more than i had imagined and even encountered at the end of any exams, O-levels included. just goes to show how important and difficult getting promoted is to us that we had to mug our asses off in the hope of being able to answer the questions almost perfectly regardless of the subjectivity issue. history and econs revolve around facts, true, but i still think they slant more towards being subjective just like literature because in the essays it all depends on our interpretation of the question ultimately (i'm saying this out of experience - i always misinterpret).

talking about essays by the way, all the subjects i'm doing are essay based. so in exams, we just sit and write and write and keep on writing (penning down of thoughts of cos, not crap) until time is up. for the promos, i didn't manage to finish any single paper so my last essays for all the papers hung in mid air, without proper conclusion, and some even with incomplete sentences and arguments. tragic thing. for our lit paper today, the last section on the analysis of poetry, i only managed to cover 2 out of 3 stanzas. and here's the best part: i wrote in the introduction about the title, how it's very symbolical and detached from the theme of the poem but instead of further elaborating on that, i said we will be looking into that more at the end of this essay. sometimes i wonder if i really should loathe myself for this kind of daft mistakes that i make almost all the time.

still nothing beats submitting a 2 paragraph long essay. congratulations jael. haha. kidding. jael, one of those that always get high marks for pract crit, only managed to write 2 paragraphs, but no not because it was extemely difficult but because there just wasn't enough time. 3 hours for 3 sections. how then can a 2 page long essay not be long enough? but there were a lot that needed to be said for both texts anyway so of course 2 page is not long enough. but with the time constraint?

whatever it is, like i've said earlier, i'm just glad it's over. prayers abound till the results are out!

there's a new face in town babes. flown in specially from hongkong coming from a hybrid of chinese and british here for modeling assignments, Carl Ng. he's hot. but his look is the kind that i would categorise under subjective beauty. like naomi campbell. but then again most models are like that. they might not be pretty but they just look oh so good on the runway.

anyway, i have this month's issue of Style:Men, one with Carl Ng gracing the cover in a hot blood red velvet jacket that i would so love to own if money is not the issue. but that besides the point.

this month's issue is pretty intriguing. warning: not for men who scream faggot upon hearing metrosexuality. (but then again screaming his head off would make him sound like a faggot as well...) the articles in it are pretty much women-oriented. like the latest designer bags that i'm sure only Kumar would be able to carry off well enough. and the declaration that diamonds are a boy's best friend as well. i'm not particularly keen with the idea of having a diamond stud on one of my fingers. any rings with studs in fact look rather queer on men. but i wouldn't mind a pair of diamond cufflinks at all :) and then there's brow plucking. they are not exactly encouraging us men to go trim our brows, but they are telling us that if we are wise enough, we should go for it. i would rather have my chest hair plucked off (if i have chest hair that is) than having my brows trimmed. hahaha... okay it's not that bad in fact some say it looks good and neat if it's trimmed (well duh) but thanks no thanks i'm fine with the way they are. unless if i'm a model. which never will happen.

but not everything in it is feminine. they have what boys like most: gadgets. and, bryan would love this, designer perfumes, all with that woody scent in them to capture the attention and arouse the members of the opposite sex (or same sex too for that matter). talking about perfumes... i have been using the same cologne for more than a year now. adidas ice dive. i'm beginning to get sick of it after putting it on every morning to school. i can't use my Hugo cos it's too musky for school. i'm into the fruity smell now hahaha inspired my Mabby's sweet vanila scent (you can smell her from far lol). shall go look for a new one soon.

ahh like most of the other issues, they have a section on facial products, this time round focusing on scrubs. you might wanna take a look it's pretty useful. ignore the feminity that comes along with it if ur aim is to look good, really. or if you insist on emphasising your manhood (i'm NOT talking about your privates here), you might wanna take a look at Men's Health. i still prefer Style:Men though.

but anyhow MH has the same model gracing the cover. Carl Ng yes. he's THAT wanted huh. it comes along with a style guide as well attached to its back. the style guide in it however differs totally from SM. total opposite. it contains articles written by women on how much they would prefer men not to be so vain about their hair and not to know anything about make up; the whole package is pretty funny actually. it's retrosexuality (the latest phenomenon) vs metrosexuality. so if ur a true blue metrosexual and extremely proud of it as well, you might wanna steer clear from this magazine. or you might just find yourself disturbingly offended. don't say i didn't warn you. hahahaha.

btw, i finally met Mr Oh. hahahaha... my goodness...
