one, those who lack courtesy and manners, who would not say thank you when required, not to even offer a smile, thinking they are the king of the world and others are mere minions to them.
two, people who are selfish. details on this shall not be elaborated further.
i really really admire people with high interpersonal skills and i befriend people who smiles a lot. seriously. because manners and good gestures i believe can bring you to places and they are the basic things one should have since we are sharing this damn world and there is no such thing as im rich and ur poor therefore you need to bow to me. bullcrap.
it's just disheartening to see most Singaporeans even the youngsters like us to not care about such things. when someone asks you for a donation, you do not just wave your filthy hand and shake your big head utterring 'No No!' a million times and shooing that poor person away. the person's not a beggar for goodness sakes. he or she is just merely asking you if you would like to donate. they can be irritating i have to admit but just be nice and say something like 'Oh i'm sorry i do not have enough cash with me.' it's a terrible excuse i know but it's better than waving your hand and run away like as if you might contract a deadly disease if he/she comes any closer.
i really like people who smiles a lot. period. you won't know what kind of person he/she is until you get to know him/her further but a smile does wonders to the first impression i get of the person.
this brings me to the rather excellent service that we got from Swensens at Marina Square earlier during lunch. once we stepped in almost every staff greeted us with a warm welcome and embraced us with their smiles that clearly showed their pretty pearly white teeth. the waiters and waitresses were really good and they even tried chatting us up by asking us about our meal. this never happened in any other casual restaurants that i've been to (don't talk about the posh ones). so for once, i did not sulk about the GST at all.
the meal was equally great of course. all of us had the same thing - fish and chip. we had the executive meal thing that allows you to enjoy free soup of the day, soft drink and one scoop of ice cream. now, THAT is a deal, though Joel claimed Carl's Jr. has better deals. i wouldn't know cos it's not halal.
oh i jumped into our lunch without talking about our rather failed attempt of trying to surprise Vicki with her birthday present. but still it was indeed a surprise. we were surprised oursevles upon seeing what she wore - a santa hat, complete with bells that jingle whenever she turned. it was hilarious! already in the festive mood eh Vicks? hahahahaa...
and i finally found someone who actually wants to be a santa, or santarina for that matter. i thought i was weird for desiring such a thing! will someone please hire us! the (my) wallet needs to be filled! and there is nothing wrong with a Black santa, Joel. who says santas are always huge, fat and white? or for Vicki's case, slim, tall and sexy? hahahahaa...
anyways, we had dance chalet at Aloha Changi. our terrace was like less than 2km below the Old Changi Hospital. can you imagine the agony! hahaha actually it wasn't as scary as we thought it would be. at night you can't see the hospital at all; total darkness. the only mysterious thing about the place would be the "house" right behind our chalet. i didn't take much notice of it thinking it was probably just some storeroom where the cleaners keep their stuff. that was until Reza pointed out to me that that room had decorations on the outside. there were some Indian/Hindu decorations on the walls and i even noticed a ketupat.
now, if it had been a storeroom like i thought it was, then why was it decorated like a house? could there be someone staying in there? but the doors and windows were always closed. i find it weird, though not scary. who would live behind a terrace chalet anyway? plus Aloha Changi is like in the middle of nowhere. there is nothing interesting about it, no beach no sand no sea no shops no parks not even a swimming pool. the nearest so-called attraction would be Change Village. entertainment of course, the tranvestites haven. haha. but all in all it was a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. i guess. cos the place is so serene. unlike your typical crowded chalets.
it's been food food and more food these past few days. time to burn those added fats and calories! NAS! when are you free? i shall cancel all my other appointment so we can hit those machines and making sure we really work it, instead of complaining about being lazy and tired all the time hahahahaha...
